Blacks just nullified the murder statute, but call it whatever you want to. The racist result is the same.
“Blacks just nullified the murder statute,”
That sword cuts two ways.

I wondered where Davie, FL was located... essentially, it’s the west side of Fort Lauderdale.
God bless the jury forewoman.
[snip] Dayonte Resiles killed Jill Halliburton Su by stabbing her to death and leaving her lifeless body in a bathtub in her Davie home — on that much, jurors could agree. But they couldn’t agree on a murder charge, according to the jury forewoman, because three members refused to sign off on a verdict that would send a young Black man to prison for the rest of his life. For a short time, the nine who wanted a first-degree murder conviction were willing to budge. A manslaughter conviction would send Resiles to prison for 15 years, not for life. All 12 jurors signed off on manslaughter late Tuesday. [/snip]
I hope one of his fellow gang bangers visits the home of the forewoman the next time she takes a long hot bath.
sorry, forgot the /s
Reverse the races and the judge sets it aside or some such thing.
I see this statement often, and it makes me wonder. Do people not realize the US Constitution requires fugitive slaves to be returned?
Article IV, Section 2, clause 3
"No Person held to Service or Labour in one State, under the Laws thereof, escaping into another, shall, in Consequence of any Law or Regulation therein, be discharged from such Service or Labour, but shall be delivered up on Claim of the Party to whom such Service or Labour may be due."
Article IV, Section 2 makes it very clear that Constitutional law requires the return of escaped slaves to their owners, and yet people still think that defying constitutional law is no big deal.
So was it okay for juries to nullify Constitutional law? Were they their very own little secession party for the entire state?
Only one person out of twelve had the character necessary to be a juror. My hat is off to the forewoman — it takes a lot of guts to stand up to a crowd of scum. The other eleven are either racist or too weak to be jurors. The single brave and moral juror has shamed them for all to see, and they deserve it.
Not sure how the State can choose a reliable jury. I suggest a black ADA be part of the prosecution. The evidence of guilt was established. Somehow the racial
empathy of some with hyperviolent criminals has to be broken.
I disagree...I think she should have shown the pictures and then dared them to accuse her again of not caring about the race of the defendant!
Every time I was summoned to a jury in Broward county (which was nearly every year) it was a Capital Murder case involving a black accused of killing a white. The victims ranged from children, teens, adults, and, in one case, a frail elderly man.
For some strange reason, I was always challenged by the defense and bumped from the jury.
They must have known I was a FReeper! LOL!
“See you next year.”
World famous Broward county!
DENIAL is the common disease in the black community.
Absolutely this monster deserves DEATH.
Never once did I say it did! What I am saying is that there are a large number of black people that view a great deal of laws on the books as coming from a white supremacist society, thus they don’t think twice about nullifying the law through judicial activism in the form of this type of jury nullification.
If this was racially reversed , know that the jurors name and likeness would be widespread public knowledge.
“So was it okay for juries to nullify Constitutional law?”
Of course it was. That’s the whole point of juries.

Oh Dayonte. He juss wilin’
In the old days, an all white all male jury would deliberate for 20 minutes and death sentence if accused made it to trial. That is maybe partly why some black jurors act that way.
