Biden: Sending US troops to Ukraine 'not on the table'

President Biden on Wednesday said the United States is not considering sending troops to Ukraine amid rising fears about the possibility of a Russian military invasion.

“That is not on the table,” Biden told reporters at the White House before departing for a trip to Kansas City, Mo.

“We have a moral obligation and a legal obligation to our NATO allies if they were to attack under Article 5, it’s a sacred obligation. That obligation does not extend to … Ukraine,” he added.

“But, we have no business intervening in the Ukraine.”

I am not saying you’re wrong, but didn’t we ‘guarantee’ Ukraine support when they gave up their nukes?

Yipes. Whether true or not that isn't the sort of thing to say out loud. That's exactly the sort of green lighting that GHWB was (inaccurately) accused of giving Saddam.

Still, it is at least a recognition that throwing troops into a fray not of our making, halfway across the world, grossly outnumbered and with no logistical pipeline, is not good policy no matter how much money ended up with the Big Guy.

Good decision. If Sen. Wicker was President, the world would blow up. The gop-e loves big government and perpetual war.

Imagine this asshole preparing for D-Day. He’d send Hitler a memo, months in advance, advising the date, time and location.

Send arms, logistical support, medical supplies yes. U.S Troops? How many will be killed? For what?

the Europeans have never figured it out themselves. Over the last 5 centuries, the borders of Present-day Ukraine have moved fluidly between Poland, Romania, Hungary, the Hapsburg Empire, and Russia.

Is Joe Biden going to have the answer?

I agree!

Send ANYTHING you want to send but some American mother’s AND father’s PRECIOUS son!

I use to support out country in it’s overseas wars but no more because, in part, the Democrats always give up and yank the money just as we are about to win! They did it in Vietnam and they are doing it in Afghanistan.

America, because of it’s democrats, doesn’t give a DAMN about WINNING a war anymore so our boys should stay home!

JoeBama says-—this from the a@@clown whose son, and Romney’s former campaign manager are STILL getting paid by Ukrainian oil company Burisma, with 10% still going to the great DEMENTED criminal-— who got a real prosecutor removed from looking at his SON”S illegal activities by threatening the then President of the Ukraine (a RUSSIAN stooge, btw) with removal of US aid to the Ukraine. He blackmailed a Russian stooge so he could still get his son’s 10% oil kickback.

So,when he was talking with Putin, he was talking to his Superior and source of CASH money who owns the Oligarch that runs Burisma... and that’s just the start of what Putin has on this octomaroon. He is a f-ing LIAR of the first order, and a VERY STUPID greedy greaseball shakedown artist from Delaware. The worst kind of stupid-— who thinks he’s a genius. What a kabuki show— mr “tough guy”. If there ever was a Russian “collusion” this is IT. We know, JoeBama! We have it all.

“Not on the table,” in Brandon speak, means we are discussing it while sitting on couches.

Servicemen of the U.S. and Ukrainian armies attend the opening ceremony of the "RAPID TRIDENT-2021" military exercise at Ukraine's International Peacekeeping Security Centre near Yavoriv in the Lviv region, Ukraine September 20, 2021.

> Trump wouldn’t say one way or another. Keep Putin guessing.

This.

Next, Biden will ask Xi how he can assist in the upcoming invasion of Taiwan.

didn't we guarantee "support"? Not from what I read...

Then again...define support...as far as I can see, the support was in word only...and for years we have supported the thieves of Ukraine. The people gained nothing from our support.

And IRRC, Soros controls Ukraine.

Yep! That’s part of the treaty.

Stop with the propaganda...treaties get ratified, memorandums get tossed in the round file.
