Journalists, other liberals agree: Press went easy on Trump, too critical of Biden
White House officials have been hosting secret meetings with journalists in an effort to "reshape" coverage of the Biden administration that they view to be unfair.
CNN reports:
The White House, not happy with the news media's coverage of the supply chain and economy, has been working behind the scenes trying to reshape coverage in its favor. Senior White House and admin officials—including NEC Deputy Directors David Kamin and Bharat Ramamurti, along with Ports Envoy John Porcari—have been briefing major newsrooms over the past week, a source tells me.
The officials have been discussing with newsrooms trends pertaining to job creation, economic growth, supply chains, and more. The basic argument that has been made: That the country's economy is in much better shape than it was last year.
News of the media's collusion with the White House comes nearly a week after White House reporters sang "Happy Birthday" to Press Secretary Jen Psaki, and just days after Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank wrote that "the media treats Biden as badly as—or worse than—Trump." The column was widely praised and promoted by journalists, celebs, and other liberals who are of the deranged view that media outlets have been unfairly critical of Biden and were not critical enough of the Trump administration.
According to preeminent liberal nerd Nate Silver (and common sense), however, the analysis Milbank cited in support of his argument is "complete crap." We all know collusion is bad, but it is especially dangerous for democracy when journalists and government officials are the ones doing the colluding. Shame on them.
“We all know collusion is bad, but it is especially dangerous for democracy when journalists and government officials are the ones doing the colluding. Shame on them.”
They have no shame, they aren’t very bright, and they just don’t care. It’s the agenda that matters to them.
This has been going on forever. You can’t polish a (uhm) piece of excitement.
Your mission, Jim, should you decide to take it is....oh WTF, this is IMPOSSIBLE.
Yeah, that's the funniest part of this whole story. It's like they don't realize that the media has been propping up the Democrat Party forever.
Now that they got their government checks—they will write what they are told....
There is only so much the MSM can do. At some point, most recognize the coverage being like a SNL skit.
My biggest worry is not about our country right now, but where we’re headed if his agenda continues to be implemented.
You can tell that the media supported Trump by the plain evidence: they did not present headlines every day calling for Trump’s execution.
Now that they got their government checks—they will write what they are told....
I am frustrated that there is not more anger over the taxpayers giving money to propaganda outlets due to Covid.
One can make an argument that there has been no entity in our nation outside of Fauci more responsible for the panic and misinformation about Covid than the media. They lied about Biden and told us the laptop and all things Hunter were Russian disinformation. They lied and told us Trump was a Russian stooge.
They just lie. We have never seen a time in our nation where it pays better to lie. Media lies and gets a taxpayer bailout. Bureaucrats lie and get high paying consultant jobs or gigs on CNN. As long as you lie on behalf of the left you are guaranteed to land on your feet.
There may be huge amounts of anger. It would never be reported.
State controlled media just like in Marxist countries.
Thanks for that.
JournoList ver2.0???
“State controlled media just like in Marxist countries.”
Doesn’t the 2 trillion “build back better” bill now in Congress include $1.9 billion to subsidize the cost of hiring reporters for media companies? Once that bill passes, Joe and the Democrats will be assured of positive coverage on every issue.
reshape aka lie some more
