'If he wanted to run, that's OK with me. I think we'd win by a lot.' Former President Donald Trump continues to say Gov. Ron DeSantis won’t run against him in 2024 and can’t beat him if he does, while reminding voters DeSantis wouldn’t be Governor without Trump’s endorsement.
During an interview with South Florida radio host Brian Mudd, Trump offered his latest in a series of statements essentially claiming he made the Governor and DeSantis knows better than to run against him in 2024.
“I do think if I run, he won’t,” Trump said. “I know they try and create a friction. I don’t think it exists at all. It might, you know, you never know. If he wanted to run, that’s OK with me. I think we’d win by a lot. But he’s good. And he’s done a good job as Governor.”
Trump also offered a new detail on his 2018 DeSantis endorsement, with Trump finding new ways to explicitly take credit for DeSantis’ victory.
“When Ron came to me, he was at 3%. And he had no money. And he asked for an endorsement. And I actually, you know, wasn’t too thrilled because … you know, he was very good, he helped me with the (Bob) Mueller hoax, because we had many hoaxes, and he was on television a lot,” Trump said. “But people didn’t relate him doing that as Governor. So when he announced for Governor, people didn’t really know who he was.”
“So when Ron asked me for help, for an endorsement.” Trump added, “He was at 3(%), and 3(%) means you don’t have a chance. He went up like a rocket ship.”
Trump noted DeSantis’ chief primary opponent, Adam Putnam, told him the endorsement was “like a nuclear weapon went off.”

I heard Trump live on a radio interview asked why the Southwest airline pilots were boycotting work when the vaccines were being pushed on them.
I’ll give you fifty chances and you won’t give the answer that Trump said.
He said they were boycotting work to protest the 2020 election results.
Trump’s pride is so great that he refuses to acknowledge that there could be anything wrong with the vaccines and they’re causing any problems with anyone’s health or destroying Liberty all over this world. That answer was insane and delusional. And he has to smarten up if he wants to win back the presidency and actually help this country.
And my comment about Biden not getting five votes was what you call hyperbole. Look it up, it’ll be a good one to add to your vocabulary
I’m with ya on that.
“And my comment about Biden not getting five votes was what you call hyperbole.”
It’s ok when you to use hyperbole, but not when Trump does.
Trump says things he knows will trigger the Left - apparently they trigger you as well.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
The content of his statements don’t trigger me. They trigger me because I know they will translate to lost votes. If he could just grow up a little bit and put winning the election first then there would be no contest in the next election. People from both sides are going to be begging for a leader this country desperately needs. So you keep humoring him. I can’t in good conscience.
I’m not humoring him - I actually think his approach is spot on. Deplorables aren’t looking for diplomacy and etiquette.
His uncouth speech signals that he’s not going to let the woke Left define what he can say and what he can’t say.
The best way to reassure patriots that he’s not going to play by their rules is to break those rules every chance he gets.
That’s exactly the signal I’m looking for - and I’m not alone.
I’d like to agree with your take on Trump in this situation but I think I don’t think he’s really that deep.
I’d also remind you that profanity isn’t even allowed here on FreeRepublic. And there’s a reason. It’s really a bad look andultimately and doesn’t advance any topic if you want to be taken seriously.
Right. I don’t want to put too fine a point on it - and I support good manners and civility.
I just think that in the context of an entirely corrupt media, an entirely dishonest body politic and an entirely brainwashed citizenry - we need leaders who are willing to call liars liars, and call scumbags scumbags.
I’m tired of everyone fake getting along. I’m tired of Senators calling each other “my esteemed colleague” or whatever.
I find President Trump’s demeanor refreshing. I know it’s not ideal.. but there’s not much about the world today that’s ideal.
I completely understand your view.
Florida needs him. Keep your hands off.
Trump’s ego is wearing thin. Keeping one’s yap shut at appropriate times is a virtue that Trump lacks.
