It's almost like their contributors are poised at the keyboards, waiting for somebody to die.
Back in the older days, newspapers used to have obituaries already written up on many famous people. That way, if the person died just before the deadline, they'd be able to pump a quick obit out there before the presses started running. In fact, when the health of these people took a turn for the worse, the editor would tell their people to "freshen" a particular obituary up. I think George Burns' obituary was in the can for about 40 years. Keith Richards' for 60 years (and still waiting).
Wiki probably does as well.................
WaPo had the Dole tweet prequed. Had him “dead at XX” with the XX supposed to have been edited to arabic numerals but whoever pushed the button forgot to edit first.
