Meeting at the school.

12:51 pm: Ethan allegedly shoots and kills four students

1:22 pm: Jennifer texted Ethan 'don't do it.' The shooting had already taken place.

1:37 pm James called 911 to report the gun missing and said he thinks his son might have it.

The above is from the daily mail.

Yet, the parents had the frame of mind to go home and check to see if the gun was still where the father said he left it. When he found it was not there he called 911.

In my own mind I look at these cursory facts and think: If the parents even thought for a moment that the kid might have the gun (hence the need to check for it), then they should have taken him out of school. Similarly, the school admin should have called the resource officer or other authorities based on what the behavior of the student.

Yes, that makes sense. No way he should have been sent back to school before mental health experts and police evaluated things. And as usual, you have to go to a British news source to get better details on what happened.

Maybe the don’t do it was regarding the kid not killing himself and not the murders.
