Officials and experts say that this time is different — and there are several clues giving them genuine concern that the current gambit by Russian President Vladimir Putin might be for real, and the start of a conflict that could drag in Europe and even the U.S. itself.
Putin has deployed more than 90,000 troops along Russia’s border with Ukraine, matching the force that he sent and withdrew in the spring. But whereas those troops maneuvered in open daylight, now they have mostly been far less showy, moving under the cover of darkness.

REALLY? I guess we would need your definition of ‘Russia’ and ‘invasion’. I have spoken to several Russians that are convinced taking Crimea was not an invasion - let’s forget once they took the naval base they reflagged the military vessels as Russian from Ukrainian and to state they did not break the treaty they signed in the 90’s with them it had to be cultural Russians as Ukrainian citizens rising up.

I will apologize if you meant your comment as sarcasm but it did not come off that way.
The US comment is another matter in your post; some say since the Spanish-American War we have been manipulated (as a people) in some way to support certain actions. My belief is if we had not gone to Korea/VietNam/Middle East it would have been open season since everyone would know the US will just sit back in ‘security’ since it’s not us being attacked. Where we are now is a result of people like Brandon and not standing up for anything; especially on the home front.

I think the media is hoping for war and the Biden admin to do something they can spin as decisive. It is important to distract attention and news cycle from domestic catastrophes piling up.
