Being a kept woman is glorified and glamorized all over TV, movies, and the internet.
Foolish young girls, even those from good homes, fall for the propaganda.
It’s nothing new. Even in the fifties, there were these kinds of movies, i.e. “Gigi”, “The Moon is Blue”, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, “Sabrina.”
Granted, these films were not explicit, but the message was still there:
“Better to be an old man’s sweetheart than a young man’s slave.”
I think you mean well, but are casting your rope with a very
big loop there.
I’m not familiar with two of those movies, even though I have
seen Breakfast at Tiffany’s many years ago. I just don’t
remember the particulars now.
As for Sabrina, there wasn’t any underage shenanigans going on
there, unless we’re talking about adolescent and young adult
promiscuity.
I did not see the younger male figure as in his mid 30s. It
seemed to me he was playing a role in his mid 20s, and
Sabrina caught his eye when she was out of high school. Now
I could be estimating that low, but even if he was playing
a 30 year old guy, 30 and 18 is legal and above board if
she is not being abused. He wanted her, but he didn’t
force himself on her then pass her around.
I don’t see that anywhere close to what was taking place in
the situation talked about in the courtroom in this trial.
We’re talking about 14 year old girls and adults in their
mid-30s. These girls were passed around from man to man,
and it sounds like the older women were happy to participate
also.
There were no offerings of money in Sabrina. The girl was
not shuffled around between men.
I’d at least take that one off your list.
As much as I might not think a mid 30 year old man and an
18 year old girl is kosher, it’s not what was going on here
at all.
Ten years ago while working at the mall....a TV station disguised themselves as seeking Models to see how many girls would follow them out of the mall. Despite all the warnings at that time every single one of them followed the man out of the mall to the van.
