The jury has reached a verdict in the trial of Travis McMichael and his father, Gregory, and their neighbor, William "Roddie" Bryan.
The three men, who are white, each face charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and criminal attempt to commit a felony in the shooting death of Ahmaud Arbery, 25, who was Black, on Feb. 23, 2020, in Georgia.
They face up to life in prison if convicted of the more serious charges.
The nearly all-white jury, which has one Black member, began deliberating the men's fate on Tuesday.

When Arbery was first shot, FR defended the McMichaels. I’m surprised at posters responses.
In his deposition English said he barely knew the McMichael's and did not ask them to keep an eye on his property.

well, that’s because they’ve now had lots of time listening to the msm telling them what they should believe. If they put aside the media hype and lies and just looked ALL the evidence, they wouldn’t be so sure.
Would say two of these three have a good case for an appeal and considerable reduction of their sentences for lesser charges. Even the shooter has some potential for an appeal except for the politicized aspect. This seems closer to reckless use of a firearm than first degree murder.
Also have to object to the use of “white” and “Black” in the original article. Why the inconsistent standard? I assume this is a cut and paste and not inserted by the FR poster.
Whoever Sharpton got fired should go after him with a seven figure lawsuit, get the whole cancel culture thing into a court of law.

It looks like this case was determined by the illegal detainment. Were it not for that, it would have been pretty solid self defense case.
They simply were not within their legal rights to “hold him for the police” as they did not witness a crime, other than trespassing.
This does seem like a solid precedent to me that anyone who illegally detains anyone, (say a protester blocking a road preventing someone for moving), cannot claim self defense if said detained person uses lethal force, (attempting to run them over), in trying to escape their detainment.

They had a lousy case of self defense. They initiated the case and provoked the confrontation. That eliminated their claim.
The only person with a good case for self defense would have been Arbery. But since he was killed, he can’t make that case.
Note: They did not even witness the alleged ‘trespassing’ crime either.
Note: They never reached the point of ‘holding him’. Perhaps if they had said... “Halt, you are under citizens arrest” then they might have a case for claiming citizens arrest. But this claim appears to have materialized AFTER the lawyers arrived.

As a child I used to like to look in on construction, and spent hours watching the black family men doing the bricks on the brick duplexes across the street. I have since laid some bricks, and at 83 am still doing some renovation work. My brother is also an architect. PS: I am a woman.

He was caught on camera and reported to police numerous times. Had the police done their jobs in the first place none of this would have happened.
There’s nothing childish about someone prowling at night when he was seen on security cameras. This man had a record of violence.
Darriynn Brown was caught on security cameras just prowling around at night looking into yards, and police did nothing, and that didn’t end well for four year old, Cash Gernon.
I’ve had to live around this kind of insanity for decades in a democrat run city, and now it’s spilling over here, and I’m not going to make any excuses for them. I used to drive to and from work with a loaded gun back then, because I’m also a woman.
