Following the departures of Jonah Goldberg and Stephen Hayes from Fox News, a new report says the network has seen a significant level of an internal dispute over the conspiracy theories espoused by Tucker Carlson.
New York Times media columnist Ben Smith reported on Sunday that Goldberg and Hayes walked out because of Patriot Purge, Carlson’s 3-part Fox Nation docuseries about the storming of the U.S. Capitol. Fact-checkers and media commentators have been tearing Patriot Purge to shreds for boosting known propagandists and advancing unsubstantiated claims about January 6th.
NPR’s David Folkenflik reported on this development new details that had not yet been known: Senior Fox News figures voiced their own concerns about the dubious claims advanced by Patriot Purge and Fox’s opinion side. The report states that Bret Baier and Chris Wallace went as far as raising their objections to the network’s leaders.
The piece goes on to illustrate how Fox’s news division aired segments that distanced themselves from Carlson’s claims. Carlson declined to comment on that when reached by NPR, but he mocked Goldberg and Hayes over their leave-taking, saying it “will substantially improve the channel.”
“These are two of the only people in the world who still pretend the Iraq war was a good idea,” Carlson said. “No one wants to watch commentary that stupid.”
A Fox executive said the network had no intention of re-signing Steve Hayes or Jonah Goldberg when their contracts came up in 2022.

I don’ ever watch Wallace or Baker. Never ever.
Have nothing against Bret Baier but I prefer watching Tucker over him any day - I won’t even have the TV tuned to FOX if Wallace is on.
Tucker is going to have Kyle Rittenhouse on his show tonight. Mike Gallagher on the radio now says he’ll have the first radio interview with him but I don’t know when.
If it comes to a fight between Baier/Wallace and Tucker Carlson, Carlson wins every single time.
Dump Chris Wallace and Fox ratings on Sunday mornings rocket up. Lose that smarmy creep already.
Tucker has by far better ratings than these two jokers.
They’re both jealous the don’t have tucker’s ratings.
Well. So much for that opinion.
I did not dig deeply, but my impression is that they dismissed Tucker’s piece as conspiracy theory, but they offered NOTHING to disprove Tucker’s allegations. Sounds like P!$$y and Bore are just supporting their agenda, not doing real journalism. Put on your big boy pants and PROVE Tucker wrong if you can. . . .
Off topic of the thread but wanted to share this...
Faux Gnus...”We report...We decide!”
Two pansies. Not one/half a man between them.
“How dare you call me an oily, country-club, Conservative Inc, doooch”
except he’s a registered democrat.
Two worthless "contributors". Hayes? Seriously? who cares about him. And Baier and Wallace, they should go too.
“Neither Bret Baier nor Chris Wallace are particularly friendly to the Constitutional conservative or the Constitutional libertarian points of view, and even their possible allegiance to the Establishment GOP is in question”
They are both Democrats.
Please please get rid of Neil Cavuto. All of his guests are liberals or Rhinos. He is terrible, but with his health issues, they will keep him until the end.
specifics please boys, what do you object to?
The truth getting out? Did you object to only Trump hating republicans being allowed on the fake committee?
Bret’s new book is To Rescue The Republic
Where is he in life and what does he believe...
This guy makes me angry... he is final straw why I left Fox. How can he write a book like that and be the one destroying the Republic!
Are they blind, ignorant, dumb and can’t see it?!!
FOAD Baier
FOAD Wallace
“A Fox executive said the network had no intention of re-signing Steve Hayes or Jonah Goldberg when their contracts came up in 2022.”
So they quit before they were fired.
Move Shannon Breem from midnight and give her the Sunday Show.
“Baier always comes out acting all conservative when he is trying to pimp one of his books.”
Yes. And Juan Williams comes to mind as well.
