You can report the news, but when you repeatedly label someone as a white supremacist (a juvenile no less) and a “murderer” you cannot hide behind the 1st amendment. That is textbook defamation punctuated by the acquittal.
Calling him a murderer might be somewhat protected given that it was now legally a “justified incident” via acquittal, but there was NEVER one shred of evidence that he was a white supremacist.
In a just world, Biden would be writing him a check too.
Justified is the wrong word.... it was not justified to call him a murderer, but he was at least charged with murder when the mediots said that so it might be murkier.
His attorneys should focus on how he was labeled as a white supremacist absent any evidence (or charges) to support it.
