Try telling a Jewish adoption agency that they have to give children to Muslim families, or vice versa.
Catholic Charities in Illinois just dropped doing adoptions after the state required accommodating same sex couples. The realm of the almighty State gets larger, and personal freedom and Religion gets smaller.

Religion and personal freedom should thrive in these times.
There’s nothing that prevents Catholic Charities from processing adoptions for Catholics. They just won’t get paid by Caesar for it.
In other words, this is an object lesson in what the word CHARITIES in that organization’s name actually means.
It’s long past time for religious people to grow up and get over that lame sh!t they’ve been accepting for decades.

The realm of the almighty State gets larger, and personal freedom and Religion gets smaller. Faith flourishes when it is under attack. Throwing Christians to the lions did happen (obicĕre bestiis), as did other atrocities. Christianity grew despite these things. The biggest threat to faith is human arrogance, and the desolation of believing that there is no meaning or purpose to life.
