Seattle shows power and limits of Jayapal’s progressives

SEATTLE — When U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal returns home to Seattle, the Congressional Progressive Caucus chairwoman always goes for a walk along the Puget Sound.

“Everything feels closed in sometimes in D.C., and so when I come home, I just like to ground myself in that spaciousness,” Jayapal said in a recent interview with The Associated Press during a trip back to the city she represents.

Jayapal’s ritual is calming at a time her career has rapidly ascended into the top tiers of U.S. politics, showcasing the progressive street cred she amassed in Seattle and a political sensibility she has wielded in the nation’s Capitol.

“Some might say clever, some might say sensible,” said Aseem Prakash, a University of Washington political science professor. “She has a greater legislative fitness. Smart people realize the limits to power —you should push when you can but you know when you can push no more.”

The 56-year-old Jayapal’s trajectory began as a teenage immigrant from India who turned into an investment banker with an MBA, and then a new career path from community organizing to elected office at the state and congressional level. She founded OneAmerica and grew it over a decade into the largest immigration advocacy group in Washington state.

“I am not afraid of numbers. I know how to argue my points. I am used to working in rooms full of people that don’t look like me,” Jayapal said. “I always tell people ... don’t forget the experiences that you don’t like are just as important as the experiences you like.”

" . . . showcasing the progressive street cred she amassed in Seattle."

I live in the area and I never heard of her until she ran for Congress.

Does natural ugly cause women to become progressive, or do they become ugly from years of vitriol and miasma oozing from their pores after they become progressive?

Seattle , and anywhere else , that allows these generationally socialist/communist immigrants from India to rise to political power , are making a HUGE mistake . Indians are like the Borg, they are almost hivelike in the social order and behaviors , as numerous as bees, and they will take over, eventually, because they are super prolific . They have NOTHING, historically or culturally, in common with the United States , our Constitution , or our history and heritage. Even Dinesh DeSouza demonstrates that every time he opens his mouth. They are arrogant, perhaps the most arrogant of all immigrants. Yet look at the country they are fleeing. Having been there several times, I know of what I speak. We are insane to allow them to be elected into any form of legislative office, giving them power and authority over actual Americans. Big mistake. Jayapal is a classic example .

The Maharushie answered your question years ago:

Rush’s Limbaugh's Undeniable Truths of Life:

#24: Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women access to the mainstream of society.

It’s kind of funny… I never really liked that rule #24 that Rush put out.

I never liked it...that is until I realized it was the truth.

A little of both, I think. Leftist women seem to make it a point of pride to not make any effort to stay attractive, not making an effort to watch their weight, etc. And ugly attitudes show through after a while.

Why are Indian immigrants and their kids attracted to Marxisat ideology so frequently? This creep, Preet Bharara, so many others.

Pramilla Pay-pal. She is 100% dedicated to raising funds. She is a cheaper slut than Commy la Harris.

Read up on the history of India in the 20th century. Socialism was very popular in India.

I have heard that the eastern state of Bengal and the southern states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu have the most communists living in them. Is this true? Thanks.

I don’t know if they have the most, but they have the most organized and powerful commies there.

Seattle is becoming a shithole. Drugs, homeless, squalor.
Jayapal will do all she can to accelerate/lower the city to Mumbai like conditions. Then, it is all downhill for Seattle. I hate to say: “the people deserve it!”
“Burn, baby, Burn!” A 60’s cry for “social justice,” from the left, is fitting and on the horizon.

I don’t mean malice in this post but I have been accosted by Seattle people who are blind, hate the USA and deserve to burn with their city.

This joke , Jayapal, comes from a place (Madras) where , even in the 21st century, the majority of the people still go to take their morning crap on the roadside . On railroad rail beds , out in the open fields, on the sidewalks , of even their most ‘sacred’ cities . They live with a millennia-old caste system , that is still in effect, right under the surface, Then these haughty people migrate here , become lawyers, run for office in Democrat ‘progressive’ cities , and end up with legislative power that affects all of us . It is just not right . Show me one American that has EVER held political office in India! There has never been one . Why do we allow it? The U.S. Constitution you say? CHANGE THE CONSTITUTION ! To be: ONLY those born and raised here , ancestral AMERICANS can run for , or hold elected office , of any capacity , within the United States . STOP throwing our most precious pearls to swine .

It is a self-reinforcing feedback loop in either case.

I understand that the Ganges, a “sacred river,” is more like a open sewer and that you are likely to encounter a floating corpse if you go for a “dip” in the Ganges.
I have had fine Indian neighbors but my wife could not stand how the husband treated his American wife. Congenial in groups, but have an irksome habit of speaking “Indian” and leaving the rest of us in the dark. I know that is a broad brush but it is widespread. There are many Indian Doctors in our state and, it seems that they are all named, “Patel!” LOL
