But I think that young men should not be going into a crowd of mad rioters all by themselves.
One 17 year old kid is not a militia.
Go back to the founding of the country. You're likely to find quite a few 12/13/14/15 year old "militia" members.
During a war, when they run out of 18+, they can start drafting 17 year olds.
