Both sides have rested their case and they proceed to try to convince the jury that their client is either guilty as charged (including lesser offenses) or Not Guilty by reason of self-defense.
So far, my favorite line from the trial came from the prosecution:
ADA Binger: "Mr. Rittenhouse, you play Call of Duty, right? Isn't the goal of that game to kill everyone in sight?"
KYLE: "Well, yea, but it is a game . . . it isn't reality."
Had Kyle been killed it would have been ‘local news only.’ Nobody would have cared if he died.
Only made the news because it fit into a leftist false narrative, “White nationalist showed up to kill black people with his machine gun!”
And so I have been watching, very closely, this trial the last couple of days.
Also have been reading these live posts and am impressed with the analyses presented, opinions, thoughts on the matter.
And so I step in, and not wanting to insult anyone as regards their belief in how this is all going to end up....I offer my rather unscientific conclusion...how it’s going to end.
KR is now 18 years old, 17 at the time this happened. What the hell caused him to run outside into this mob of out-of-control rioters? I know his father called him up or some such, asked him to check the car lot....or some such.
But why on earth did he grab a big gun, that was loaded I might add.....before running with the rioters?
Would any on you have done the same thing?
At age 17?
Killing two people and injuring one.
I am very sure, let me add here with emphasis, that it was never KR’s intention to shoot anyone. It just seemed the logical thing to do, as this young man considered.
And goodness, well folks I think KR’s is going to be found guilty of something.
Probably some third degree manslaughter or some such.
Juries are pretty smart; smarter than a lot of lawyers quite frankly. I’m thinking what I would do at this point if I were on that jury.
HE SHOT AND KILLED TWO PEOPLE!
Sure he had no plan to. And for sure, at least as I see it, he was threatened and felt a need to defend himself.
In other words, I don’t believe for one minute he thought this was ever going to happen.
He’s a kid. and he seems like a nice kid.
Now who knows what will become of his life?

Kyle runs by a guy holding an AR . . . if the crowd was concerned about an active shooter that was a good time to neutralize him - but nothing happened.

Binger is doing a lot of “X felt this. He probably thought this. The guy who never testified was feeling Y.” Hopefully the jurors are thinking what I am: “UNBELIEVABLE!”
Good question.
Have we seen/heard any viable takes from people in the courtroom as to what the attitude of the jury is? I pray they exonerate KR. I also pray the defense does a GREAT job (they’ve not been the best throughout the trial but maybe they shine in closing, God willing)

I believe in legal terms it's called self defense.
That was not the case. The rest of your statement is ludicrous and you fail to grasp the concept of microsecond split second decision proving self defense.

And what would he be guilty of precisely? Guilty of legally open carrying a legal firearm? What would be the penalty for that? 12 years? 20 years?

This is why I hate to post on threads like this. Cause there’s always someone who will call you names when you are seeking a discussion, not insults, about the matter at hand.
I BELIEVE IT IS FINE TO KILL PEOPLE IN SELF-DEFENSE.
And since your reading skills are suspect (see, I can insult too), I questioned why the kid even went out there to begin with. I believe he was being shot at but had he not ran out and joined with the rioters nothing would have happened.
He would not have have shot and killed people even though in self-defense.
