Kyle Rittenhouse Trial - Day 10 - Closing Arguments

Both sides have rested their case and they proceed to try to convince the jury that their client is either guilty as charged (including lesser offenses) or Not Guilty by reason of self-defense.

So far, my favorite line from the trial came from the prosecution:

ADA Binger: "Mr. Rittenhouse, you play Call of Duty, right? Isn't the goal of that game to kill everyone in sight?"

KYLE: "Well, yea, but it is a game . . . it isn't reality."

Rosenbaum was unarmed, but he was about to be . . . and then Kyle would have been the one laying face down in the asphalt, and we have have heard nothing about this.

I’m not an attorney but it’s closing argument. I don’t think objecting is allowed, but I could be wrong.

I wish I knew more about jury dynamics. It would seem to me that if you really dislike an attorney, you'd be more inclined to go against him on close points of deliberation.

And this prosecutor is very unlikeable.

There have been two objections so far, but overruled.

Closing argument is allowed to be divorced from reality.

For example, here we have provocation by proxy. According to prosecution, Zeminski has gun pointed at him, and this is provocation. Therefore the jury should conclude Rosenbaum was provoked.

I think if I were on the jury I would vote Not Guilty just to spite the arrogant turd.

I’m aware. I’m only pointing out that the prosecution didn’t admit it was legal. They only admitted it was a rifle. They still think it was illegal.

I wonder if the defense can use that to the jury... that the prosecution was trying to jail Kyle over a charge they know was false.
