I prefer it too. I almost never use the self check out lane either. I kind of like a little human conversation. Alexa and Siri just don't cut it.
Here are some slides on “emergent intelligence” in AI and how and why it will work.
It shows examples of things we see today in the physical world where “the sum is greater than the parts”.
(The authors think true AI is a good thing, and I totally disagree with that view, btw.)
It is human prejudice and arrogance that is in denial about the (imho evil) potential of true AI.
Forgot the slides:

Robots for Congress!
Robots for Supreme Court!
The Biden government is working to rid people of such notions.
Closer to 3 million than to 300,000. I think about 2.5 million per year.

Some of the Ai robocalls are very hard to tell from human.
About the only way to catch on is to get the same call a week later, and evrything in the intro is EXACT - timing, words, inflection. But I’ve had what i thought were real conversations, and I make an effort to go off subject. Always ask “Where are you?”
There is not a robot ever to fix power and data centers.
Without that it all collapses. Even McDonalds.
How about saying to the caller “Lets Go Brandon”....
The robocaller will respond “This conversation has been reported to the Department of Homeland Security Data Services Division”.
Anything else means it is a real person.
;-)
29,000 is a blip.
So this is why they feel they have to kill off a few million Earthlings?
“Robots for Congress!
Robots for Supreme Court!”
LOVE IT!
Program Constitution, Bill of Rights, Amendment’s into them...and Voila...FREEDOM
I bought 300 shares of ARK Autonomous Tech & Robotics ETF (ARKQ) at $34 in Feb 2019. It went sideways for over a year, then in mid March 2020, people realized that the pandemic was going to be good for robotics.
It tripled by Feb 2021, but gave up about 20% within a month of that peak and has gone sideways (77 - 87) the past eight months. I’m not unhappy more than doubling my investment in 2.5 years, but lots of other opportunities did a lot better.
The Global Robotics and Automation Index ETF (ROBO) has done almost the exact same (I was looking at ROBO when I bought ARKQ). Sideways from Jan 2018 to Feb 2020. It dipped 25% starting in Feb 2020, then took off in mid March 2020 and is trading 62 to 70 the past 8 months.
The Global X Robotics & Artificial Intelligence ETF (BOTZ) has had similar performance. Low of 16 in March 2020, currently 38 in Nov 2021.
“AI is joke, someone still has to program it.”
Wrong.
Its BS I worked on swarming technology, bug brains..
