And if Rittenhouse remained unemotional throughout the trial, THAT would have been held against him, i.e., "Rittenhouse, as he did throughout the trial, remained cold, unemotional, and aloof, providing a window into his dark soul." There is no doubt that is the line they would have taken.

Not to mention that, as pointed out by a conservative blogger (Crowder?), his mother was sitting right dead in front of him bawling as he told his story. I’m 62 years old. If my mother were alive, and I saw her crying like that, I would probably cry like a baby, too.

I disagree; he gave them a lot more fodder for ridicule by blubbering...plus it gave his critics the opportunity for speculation about play acting tactics...

what if someone like Alec Baldwin gets on the stand and starts bawling; woud you defend that on the basis of emotional duress...?
