Today they are expected to bring in a witness that will impeach Gaige Grosskreutz' testimony claiming that he did not say that he wished that he would have emptied his gun into Kyle Rittenhouse."
It should be a lively day on the stand.
I imagine that Kyle will continue to smile and look relaxed during the trial knowing that the prosecutors are total idiots, and that Judge Schroeder will continue to make humorous insertions from the bench (probably because he already knows how this trial will end with a directed verdict of innocence).
As Hawk Harrelson used to say, "Sit back, relax, and strap it down" cuz' no doubt this one is going to get jiggy.
I haven’t read Legal Insurrection’s post, but I agree with what you wrote. The low key, almost casual, almost bumbling, presentation by both sides is puzzling to me. This is a murder trial in front of a jury. This is partly what
I meant by wondering if a difference in culture might account for this. Both sides must know their juries, but in my practice you do not let opportunities pass without exploiting them as dramatically as you can, even in a bench trial, much less before a jury.
It’s a mistake calling Kyle.
Oh my!
DEFENSE JUST CALLED RITTENHOUSE TO BE A WITNESS!!!!!!!
I don’t agree.
If you believe you’re winning the case you don’t call the defendant.
My heart is pounding.
God Bless and strengthen Kyle.
I was not really expecting this, though it was suggested as a possibility.
pray for him! pray for favor, confidence, strength. pray that warrior angels surround him and protect him!!
why why why
Court TVs ratings just increased 100x in the last few minutes, I’m sure.
This is the biggest trial since George Zimmerman.
Might I suggest that Kenosha is a small town that is likely not home to the sharpest litigants? Both sides are probably totally unprepared for the scope and magnitude of what landed on their doorstep on that fateful day. Flying by the seat of their pants comes to mind as I think this over.
From what we’ve seen from the prosecutor so far, they’ll be lucky to find the witness box.

Kyle’s team was winning and now he is risking throwing it all away
Maybe because he is on trial for his life?
yes, sign of courage to me. He’s innocent so I see no risk of him defending himself.
This could go well, or really, really bad.
I’m scratching my head here.
That's a good point. They might not be able to form a sentence.
Me too, altho at this point Kyle is an excellent witness.
