It won’t be a good year for the nation if they are “McConnell” Republicans.

If McConnell and McCarthy take over in 2023, Biden will still get everything he wants.

McCarthy couldn’t stop 13 Rino defections, and McConnell couldn’t stop 10 defections on Biden’s infrastructure social actions bill.
Expect the same on the reconciliation bill, and then welcome the 11 million (actually 20 million) new illegal alien voters for 2024.

Republicans say government doesn’t work then get elected and prove it.

And even if they take control of both houses they will do nothing to help the country.

Agree. Republicans are famous for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. The most that can be said of them is that they slightly slow down our slide into oblivion.

Sadly, that’s exactly what they’ll do. And the only reason they do that is because we let them.

Lets just say, for example, that a big campaign issue next year, 2024, 2026, etc is: Congressional pay and benefits and term limits. Every person running says they back term limits and restructuring the pay/benefit package of members of Congress and eliminating their pensions. (Contrary to popular belief they don’t get the Full Monty after their first term.) They all get voted in.

All they’ll do until the next election is start fires that have to be put out, ones that are more important than pay/benefits/pensions/term limits and, as usual, NOTHING will be accomplished.

And, given the amount of control the state GOP has on who can and will run and voters inability to give someone else a chance, because they aren’t career politicians, we all get stuck with the same, tired, corrupt clowns.

What are the CRs and omnibus packages for? To give them an out for not doing their jobs. They have all year to work on budgets. They don’t and at the last minute the house is on fire and they have to put it out.

President Trump brought up the exact topic, he was ignored and he was forced to sign CRs.
