The majority of Jews are not religious. Same with Christians.
There are tons of people in America, and other Western nations, who will say “yeah, technically I’m a Catholic (or Episcopalian, or Lutheran, or Methodist, etc), but I haven’t been in a church since I was a little kid, and I don’t believe in any of that stuff”.
The only thing that differentiates non religious Jews from non religious Christians, is that they’re more likely to still identify as Jewish, simply due to their family history of grandparents speaking Yiddish, cooking Jewish food, etc.
RCP
NJ Governor
Votes Percent (97%)
Murphy (D) 1,154,440 49.6
Ciattarelli (R) 1,157,546 49.7
Fox has those numbers but only 87% in..
I took a look at this website. You can compare the 2016 vote percentage to the 2020 vote percentage county by county. It shows Youngkin doing much better than 2016 in all counties except for one. In 2016 Trump won Frederick county by 28%. In 2020, it shows McAuliffe winning it by 39%. That has to be a typo, or them switching the vote. If they’ve switched the vote, Youngkin will pick up a big chunk when they fix it.
I think they just corrected the vote totals for Frederick county. It was showing a 39% McAuliffe lead for quite a while. It now shows a 39% Youngkin lead, and Youngkin’s overall lead just took a nice jump.
Youngkin was an outstanding candidate in many ways, but would he have won without the rape story together with McAuliffe’s cluelessness about parents?
I think McAuliffe believed he was a shoe in with the big brass behind him......his behavior only changed later on and you could actually ‘see’ his stress with some of the antics he pulled....even his own people wanted to know why he pulled that stuff.
