Exactly, American Black Players are dwindling, but Black Latino Players have steadily increased over the years to the point they are the majority on some teams...at least it appears that way...
Latinos are 50 percent of MLB and only 15% of the population. Baseball is in their culture and necessarily it is reflected in their numbers in MLB where most deserve to be because of talent. Because of that factor, whites are underrepresented as much as blacks. Why is this a story? NBC failed at their narrative to create the impression blacks are discriminated in MLB because of color. Maybe they want to try to do a ice hockey narrative that there are not enough Latinos and blacks in hockey. Nor are there in Canada which dominates the sport. Of course, they won’t touch basketball, boxing and football, where black player numbers are overwhelming. Tired of all these race narratives in sport,
One could say there are too many on those teams... Black athletes should be careful what they wish for,
"Black"
Sorry to disagree but Latino/Hispanic IS considered a race...
White or Caucasian - British, French, German, etc.
Black, African American or Coloured People - Kenyan,
Nigerian, Somalian, biracial, etc.
American Indian or Alaska Native - Iroquois, Cherokee, Navajo, Haida, etc.
Latino or Hispanic - Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, etc.
Asian - Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Cambodian, etc.
Pacific Islander or Hawaiian - Samoan, Tongan, Maori, Tahitian, etc

Maybe the author of this slop wants to re-think the whole narrative.
If the two best teams in MLB have only one black player apiece on their rosters, then I might conclude that black people aren't very good baseball players.
until Richard Nixon added it to the Census in 1970, along with Asian/Pacific Islander.
You can google it.

Well, it’s OK to have a meritocracy when it benefits us, such as the NBA or the NFL. But when it does not work in our favor, such as in baseball, then it must be racism!
Considering that we are discussing a situation in THE PRESENT and a reference made in THE PRESENT not 50 years ago, I’ll stand by my assertion as it is CORRECT.
The below are the same race in your opinion?...(all Mexicans)
[[NBA has 17% white players....
NFL has 24% white players....]]
And the US has only one black chess grandmaster. And he was born in Jamaica, coming to the US when he was 12.

Only three grandmasters in the world are of African descent

Oh boy, here we go.
And pretty soon all White Male VP’s retired/removed for DEI initiatives.
No racism there however...
Why would black athletes ever want to play any sport with evil, racist white supremacists?
Is someone whose father came from Spain, and has 100% European ancestry considered “Hispanic”?
How about someone born in Mexico or South America, who is of 100% European genetics?
What is called “Hispanic” in the US could more accurately be called “mestizo”, someone with a large percent of his ancestry coming from Native tribes from south of the border.

American blacks have chosen to watch and participate in basketball. This is their social, cultural, political, racial choice.
If blacks want more black players they're going to have to organize in their own communities. That is the only fix.
So, you don’t have an answer to the question. Got it.
