Elon Musk, Nearing $300 Billion Fortune, Is The Richest Person In History
Forbes ^ | October 26 2021 | Eliza Haverstock

Thanks to a blowout earnings report and a big car order by Hertz, Tesla’s market cap surpassed $1 trillion on Monday—and CEO Elon Musk has emerged as the richest person in the history of the world.

Forbes estimates Musk’s net worth to be $271.3 billion as of the market’s close on Monday—up some $41.7 billion from Friday’s close. For that, he can thank a nearly 13% jump in Tesla stock plus more than 16 million new stock options, worth $16.1 billion, awarded following Tesla’s latest earnings report.

Musk is in uncharted territory, headed toward $300 billion. For comparison, Amazon’s founder and former CEO Jeff Bezos became the richest person to ever appear on The Forbes 400 ranking of America’s richest people earlier this month, topping the list with an estimated $201 billion fortune. His net worth climbed as high as $212 billion when Amazon’s stock peaked in July—a full $59.3 billion less than Musk is worth now. Microsoft mogul Bill Gates briefly surpassed $100 billion in April 1999, during the dot-com bubble’s apex. Adjusted for inflation, that’s just over $165 billion today. When Forbes first began tracking billionaire wealth, in 1982, the richest person in America was shipping magnate Daniel Ludwig, worth $2 billion, or about $5.5 billion in today’s dollars.

He makes Bill Gates look like some wayward fiddler.

And still no way to take any of it with you.

Don’t get me wrong. More power to him. But there is a lot to be said for good health, good friends, loving family, and being right with your Maker.

Besides, as the saying goes, I might end up spending half a fortune on women and booze and spending the rest frivolously.

Mom was born in Algeria. We always joke that it makes us more African American than the majority of black America.

I even like Bezos, he’s doing some good work. Blue Origin though is struggling hard. They have lost a lot of (twitter) goodwill lately, but oh well.

Musk/SpaceX are doing great things. I wish I could work for one of Musk’s companies..

I’ll bet people like Elon are constantly showered with unsolicited offers of investment opportunities.
Once in a while, you may find that needle in haystack, where the offer is worth looking into.
Solyndra is not on that list.

What was wonderful about Boca Chica?
So far, all I hear is crazy talk from the enviro wackos about some “rare” lizard or the other that is bring threatened by Musk's rockets.

The one question I would like to ask Elon Musk, “Is there any fun or whimsical thing, solely from his, not other peoples’ point of view, that he would like to make happen?”

Not necessarily expensive, but something so incredibly cool as to redefine the word “cool” for hundreds of years.

Per everything he spends his dollars on

Taking a buggy ride across mars seems to be his goal.

Not much now with spacex pushing eminent domain and tech tyranny moving in. Besides that, great fishing, away from folk, weather...etc... All the stuff that mattered.

Before Tesla Musk created Paypal. He does a lot of things. And he was smart enough to let the government help him with Tesla, just like Warren Buffet and T. Boone Pickens let the govt help them with Wind Power. I let the govt help me with real estate.

I’m just small potatoes at using govt help compared to those guys. My fault not theirs. It’s not illegal.

As long as Musk remembers one very important detail in his life....

Mark 8:36 “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

I submit that Musk is a tremendous positive in this world and I don’t care a thing about Teslas, which is just one of his endeavors. You don’t need to fret about his soul, that’s his department.

"Musk created Paypal."

His company, X.com, merged with Confinity, which contained Paypal. Musk had absolutely nothing to do with founding Paypal, and even according to the mainstream story was only used for his money.

Elon luvs carbon taxes, ‘clean’ energy, etc, etc. Elon will continue to fire up the migration machine into Texas, to help destroy what was nice. Enjoy the rockets, while the local area is clear cut and taken away via eminent domain.

Yet Musk is probably the savviest businessman in history.

And what do that earn him on this site? Luddites and jealousy and general leftwing hatred against his successes.
