MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin judge laid out the final ground rules Monday on what evidence will be allowed when Kyle Rittenhouse goes on trial next week for shooting three people during a protest against police brutality — ruling that he will allow testimony from the defense’s use-of-force expert and he will allow evidence that police welcomed Rittenhouse and others carrying guns during the demonstration.

If Rittenhouse gets a prototypical Madison jury, it won’t be pretty. Madison gave President Trump 15.04% of the vote in 2016 and 14.30% in 2020. So if 2 out of the 12 jurors are Trump voters, Republicans would be overrepresented on that jury.

Madison is 79% white, 7% black, 9% asian.

The heavy Democrat vote comes from it being where University of Wisconsin is located.

I have read that when Kyle was knocked to the ground his rifle jammed. The protester with the handgun took that as his opportunity to kill Kyle.

Kyle quickly cleared the jam and shot the guy trying to kill him.

Kyle got up and with his rifle at low ready... scanned the area. He sees another protester nearby with a bat that lowers it. Kyle acknowledges it, takes another look around the 360, then jogs off to surrender himself to the police.

The police give him a nod and lets him continue. Later, Kyle turns himself in.
