Very strange how transgenders have leaped over women on the protected class scale.

Not strange at all. Anyone can be for equal rights for women these days and pretty much everyone is. But being pro-trans, now that really sets you apart as the woke elite. The rank on the pyramid of victimhood is inversely proportional to the percentage of the population the victim class makes up. Thus transgenders, at a fraction of 1%, outrank women, who are 50% of the population. FWIW transgenders are now being bumped off the apex of the victimhood pyramid by non-binary people. Pretending to be the opposite sex is so passé. Making up your own gender is where it's at now.
