Second guessing the actions of others in highly charged situations like that is a very difficult art.

There is a long version of the video that shows the uniformed Capitol police who were in front of the door leave just before the window is broken.
My question is why and who told them to leave?

The whole thing looks like a planned hit to me and that Ashli was set up to be killed.

Depends on the crowd and its risk to safety. The location matters too. It is important to note that his viewpoint was very different from ours. I’ve tried to extrapolate it from the various videos we’ve seen. I would have a hard time bringing charges against him, considering what he was faced with.

I like to play a mind game to help myself center (away from left or right bias) with stories like this: I imagine he was protecting Trump in that side room and the “rioters” were antifa and BLM. Based on the evidence in the videos, what would I have done? And not he dit not simply stick his gun out and fire. It took a while. What was he thinking or doing in that time? There was a LOT of adrenalin in that place.

I think Floyd was handled correctly. I think the cops did what was necessary. What happened to any of the cops involved was a travesty of justice.

Did the shooter see them? If he did, did he perceive them as members of a swat team, or members of the “rioters”? After all, how did the “rioters” get past them? I believe there was a lot of scuffling going on behind her.

Human beings are not perfect. They are emotional beings. In a situation like that, anything can happen. And when you are charged with protecting the elected representatives of a constitutional republic and the “huns” have just broken through the last door between them and you, well, you just might pop off a couple of rounds to slow them down.

It is critical to note this was not the front door of the building, and all that that implies.

It is strange that so many witnesses were right there, and this is the first time I’ve read about anyone saying Byrd warned her, except Byrd himself. Hmmmm.

Let's see how well Shooter does in the civil suit, when he's examined about how could she have been armed when she needed both hands to get through the door; how she never looked at him meaning he never gave warning to retreat; why did he lone wolf at the only entry to those office chambers -- the exposed door -- when no less than 4 other armed men in that corridor are seen clustered at the other end doing nothing; what were the exact orders he was given by his superior; and oh, what are his opinions of white people in general?

Maybe cross-examine the ANTIFA guy who took the video; and maybe a few more questions of Mr. ANTIFA allowed by the judge to establish the narrative as an eyewitness; and "Gee oh by the way, who else did you contact about attending the rally before, during, and after?"

Then let's hear from the leader of the tactical team that was right behind her at the top of the stairs; why did you hold at the top of the stairs when people were breaking out the door glass; why did you permit entry to those chambers; what were your orders and when did you receive them?

The people behind her, including several policemen, are calling it a day and leaving.

She has to be shot?

The police behind here weren’t struggling with anyone.

She might have been trying to find a quicker way out. The police were all over the stairs.

First, I don’t think you and I saw the same videos and, second, with that commotion, how would the shooter have interpretted the commotion he was seeing that deep in the building, and right at a door being destroyed by “rioters” - and the first one climbing through?

I’d have shot to kill, and hoped I had spare magazines. I’ve seen “Black Hawk Down.” 🤔
