Fairfax County Virginia board asks Northam to waive witness requirement for absentee ballots
InsideNOVA ^ | 10/8/21 | James Jarvis

The board voted 9-1 for the proposal by Chair Jeffrey McKay to send a letter to Northam, with Springfield District Supervisor Pat Herrity, the board’s only Republican, casting the only vote against the motion.

McKay said that waiving the witness signature requirement – as was done during the 2020 election – is necessary due to the continued threat of COVID-19. He said several Fairfax residents had shared concerns with him about obtaining witness signatures – arguing they could be exposed to COVID-19 in the process.

“No one should have their ballot rejected because they’re unwilling to risk their health and safety to vote,” McKay said during the meeting. “We want to be a county that promotes voter participation and doesn’t punish people.”

The Fairfax County Virginia Board of Supervisors (less Pat Herrity) should be treated as conspiring to give aid and comfort to the enemies of the United States.

I’m beginning to think that the only way to beat this is to quadruple the cheat from the right. So overwhelm them with fake ballots they will have no choice but to tighten up. Also, integrity must be enforced at the counting and tabulating phase, with competent observers from all parties.

“No one should have their ballot rejected because they’re unwilling to risk their health”

But it’s perfectly OK to be fired from your job for refusing an experimental drug that will risk your health.

Bastard democrats. Bastards.

I believe COVID was unleashed specifically to get Donald Trump out of office - done by relaxing voting laws everywhere, especially vote by mail and absentee voting.

Everyone was sent mail-in ballots in California - my neighbor received three - one for herself, one for a long-departed resident and another unknown.

I suspect no one would have questioned a thing if she’d sent in all three - marked “no” on the recent recall election in California - and then voted in person, numerous times. No ID necessary here.

"They" should lose their drivers license since "they" have better odds

“No one should have their ballot rejected because they believe they have a Constitutional Right to cheat.”

That is how I would complete that sentence.

Here is the language from the VA statute:

"A voter's failure to have a witness sign the absentee ballot return envelope for any election held during a declared state of emergency related to a communicable disease of public health threat shall not be considered a material omission and shall not render his ballot void."

Northam cannot overrule the statute. He would have to declare a state of emergency, which would have implications far in excess of voting. I don't think even a scumbag like Northam has the guts to do that right now.

I would have thought that dead “voters” would have no reason to fear catching COVID...

Is it time for some entrepreneur to start a new business: “Witnesses R Us”?

"McKay said that waiving the witness signature requirement"

An avalanche of lawsuits, not just one, might keep it from happening before the election.

The real question is, are they already doing it. Gee, if there was just one Fairfax whistleblower that said Fairfax was anticipatory taking unwitnessed absentee ballots their whole absentee batch might just be considered tainted gee gosh.
