Not familiar with TX but I suppose it’s somewhat based on the lame charge of aggravated assault. I thought that was for fist fights, not shooting people.
Agg assault with a deadly weapon is extremely nasty in TX. You can just show an intruder at night on your property a gun to scare them away and if the cops find out you’ll be charged with it.
That said, this should be attempted murder instead. TX has weird laws and enforcement that depend on the person, city, county, and so on
And to be clear, they’re state laws. But the location/cop/person/judge’s enforcement of it can go anywhere. It can cover trying (doesn’t need actual contact) to hit another person or car when driving. Or sometimes you get a ticket. It’s very random on enforcement. TX, like Missouri and the McClowskys, is a joke state.
