Nobody’s going back to work. Automation is going to replace nearly all labor well up in to the upper middle class. Even dentists, lawyers, and surgeons. Business men are getting replaced by vertical integration and conglomeration. I think even flimflam men will be replaced by official government con men. all finances will be tracked. If you want to actually make some money, find something illegal.
Those battery jobs in The Matrix are starting to look pretty good. Where’s those blue pills?
Waiting for my daffodil bulbs from Holland. Suppose to be on cargo ship. Then has to come through customs. Sent me email last week that they should be here by mid October. Sure hope so I’ve prepared the flower garden.
Your gif nails it. A buddy who follows freight logistics says it’s probably in large part because of trucker shortage, and truckers just saying NAAH! NOT WORTH IT! to driving into NYC.
As I understood it, some of those senior guys were the beneficiaries of some major concessions that the port terminal operators gave to the ILA members as a condition for allowing them to introduce more automation and downsize the work force. They kept a bunch of longshoremen on the payroll even though they didn’t need them, and gradually reduced their numbers through attrition.
Very few of the shipping containers offloaded in the Port of New York & New Jersey get delivered to NYC. In fact, the “Port of New York & New Jersey” is a bit of a misnomer because almost most of the terminals — and all the biggest/busiest ones — are on the New Jersey side of the harbor.
Electric cars. Problem solved.
IBTZ troll.
Just offer a higher starting wage. done deal.
Idiot.
Still applies. Truckers just don’t want to get into that crowded mess.
That makes sense. He was probably one of them. They just kept paying him off until he was old enough to retire.
Our planned execution
