People like Maher are are like Dr. Frankenstein, now frightened of and repelled by the monster they created.
Collectivists believe “we’re all in this together” until they achieve power, at which time a schism inevitably drives one group against another. When this happens, each group feels a need to crush the other in order to maintain the delusion of a collective will. After enough schisms, all that’s left of the collective is an endless grab for power.
I.e., they are all Dr Frankenstein.
