His first American passport was granted to him when he was a US Senator for official business, on the basis of zero documentation. Someone died during a break in at the passport office possibly trying to find this out or hide it, while he was campaigning.
Obama held the presidency while never having been able to honestly check the box, “Are You an American Citizen?”

Thanks, I think that gives a lot more support to this. I remember when the doctors who knew the locally important family in Hawaii were surprised to read the birth notice published by Obama’s grandmother (with few details and no supporting information). Wherever he was born, it wasn’t Hawaii.
