That tall, amiable sheriff and his little boy, Opie, heading to a fishing hole on the outskirts of Mayberry, North Carolina, at the start of "The Andy Griffith Show," were actually strolling along a backlot in Culver City, California.
Ron Howard, the actor who played Opie, is now one of Hollywood's top directors. Most of the other stars – Andy Griffith; Don Knotts, who played his deputy, Barney Fife; and the actors who played Aunt Bee and Floyd the Barber – they've all passed on. After all, it's been 53 years since the show was cancelled.

Koppel asked Collins, "If I wave the political thermometer across the forehead of Mount Airy, do people here believe that Joe Biden is the legitimate president?"

Koppel asked the trolley's riders, "I know you came here to have a good time and not to talk politics. But let me just ask you, as a matter of curiosity, how many of you think we had a fair election?"

Koppel asked, "One question, it's a serious question and I know you all will take it seriously: Tell me what you think happened on January 6 at Congress?"

"I won't be offended," Koppel said. "I've been a journalist all my life. When President Trump talked about the press being the enemy of the people …"

I suppose the questions he asked the busload of tourists he interviewed were fair enough if asked by a journalist seeking the objective truth, but I don't think ol' Ted has earned the benefit of the doubt. I think it's clear that he wanted to remind the LSM core audience how deplorable the deplorables are.

And, ironically….
His last statement only reiterated that the press is the enemy of the people.
Enemedia is oblivious.
If Koppel is a journalist, Barbara Streisand is a member of MENSA.
You got it.
I grew up with The Andy Griffith Show and was too young to be political (the leftists of that era may have been radicalizing their youth like they do today but I didn’t witness that).
Later in life I learned that most of the cast were flaming lefties but it didn’t change my memories of the show.
Now turds like koppel want to piss on those memories. Piss on koppel instead.

See my reply #5. Full text and video are there.
Put another way, Ted Koppel adheres to the tenets of solid journalism the same way the Joe Biden adheres to Roman Catholicism.

I sometimes wonder if the Leftism is a survival technique. They may speak liberal but they don’t act liberal. Their support for Diversity ends at the gate of their community.

Did you know this was the first sit com that had blacks as walk-ons on it?
Andy actually did some commercials on behalf of liberal Jim Hunt but was defeated by Jesse Helms nonetheless. 1984, one of the better years for the GOP.

Griffith was a flaming liberal in the newer sense of the word. If he were alive today, he’d be right there with the “Squad” and the Bernie Bros, and would be a very enthusiastic supporter of the current fascist regime…
Mayberry. Where Danny Thomas(Make Room For Daddy) was stopped speeding through town, refused to pay Andy the fine and broadcast his TV show from the Mayberry jail.
The show ended with him going back into jail.
Pilot for the Andy Griffith Show.
