The Lancet medical journal has bowed to pressure over its heavily-criticised coverage of the disputed origins of the Covid pandemic by publishing an 'alternative view' from 16 scientists – calling for an 'objective, open and transparent debate' about whether the virus leaked from a Chinese laboratory. It was revealed earlier this year that Peter Daszak – a British scientist with long-standing links to the Wuhan Institute of Virology – had secretly orchestrated a landmark statement in The Lancet in February 2020 which attacked 'conspiracy theories suggesting that Covid-19 does not have a natural origin'. The now-infamous letter, signed by 27 leading public health experts, said they stood together to 'strongly condemn' the theories which they said 'do nothing but create fear, rumours, and prejudice'.

Seeing how our own media is curiously un-curious about the whole thing we all have to come up with our own theory on how and why the virus got from the lab into Wusan.
Your theory may be the correct one.
As I said early I no longer believe the Chinese Government released the virus on purpose, only by incompetence in not having stronger security protocols in place.
Poor adherence to protocols is not confined to the surveillance and reporting of an epidemic outbreak.
It is highly unlikely that Fauci’s NIAID-funded was conducted under full compliance with Biosafety Level 5 protocols. For one thing, amongst the 900 pages of documents released under FOIA, the funding only required the research to be performed in a BSL 4 lab. Second, both French and US experts appraised the safety of the BSL 5 lab to be shoddy. Third, the Chinese do some really great things, but they are also infamous for cutting corners. Fourth, and probably most significant, gain-of-function research is too dangerous to be conducted anywhere on the planet by any organization. That’s not just my opinion, but the opinion of the Cambridge Working Group in a 2014 declaration of about 200 physicians and post-doctorate scientists in relevant fields of study. The properties they showed as assets are poorly built, poorly maintained and some are just in unlivable condition. The sad things is that before they are allowed to build anything they must have a certain percentage of the building sold or rented. These customers must put down a large down payment to buy into one of these properties. These buyers and foreign banks are at the bottom of the pyramid.
China is a big Ponzi scheme ran by the largest criminal organization in the world, the CCP. Without a flow of money into China (and the flow of cheap, poorly made goods out) China’s economy is unsustainable.
What the virus has done is locked down the demand side of the equation, people and companies are not buying as much from China.
The virus has also wrecked China’s supply side of their economy by interrupted the supplies needed by China to manufacturer their products (or in many cases simply using their cheap labor to assemble the product).
China is cooking the books as they say and you really can not trust anything they say about the state of their economy.
House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) said on Sunday he has requested a full briefing from the administration on the evidence that led the U.S. Department of Energy to join several other government agencies that now view a Chinese laboratory leak as the likeliest origin of the virus causing COVID-19.
I can wholly understand about questions on the origin of the virus, but my big sticking point is what this government (the Administration, the FDA, CDC, NIH/NIAID, et al) has done to foist this hoax off on people so they can instill fear and CONTROL them.
This comes from the Watergate era - The coverup is WORSE than the crime and this Administration has a lot to answer for, IMO. It’s CRIMINAL intent in my book; there is a gaggle of criminals that need to be in prison for it.
