Rachel Maddow seems a bit anxious about the pending indictment.

L Jean Camp must be getting very nervous at Indiana University…

Camp is the cybersecurity professor who first pushed this fake story on the compliant media. She has gone radio silent of late and refused to honor a subpoena from Durham.

SOURCE — NEW YORK TIMES

WASHINGTON — John H. Durham, the special counsel appointed by the Trump administration to scrutinize the Russia investigation, has told the Justice Department that he will ask a grand jury to indict a prominent cybersecurity lawyer on a charge of making a false statement to the F.B.I., people familiar with the matter said.

Any indictment of the lawyer — Michael Sussmann, a former federal prosecutor and now a partner at the Perkins Coie law firm, and who represented the Democratic National Committee on issues related to Russia’s 2016 hacking of its servers — is likely to attract significant political attention.

Donald J. Trump and his supporters have long accused Democrats and Perkins Coie — whose political law group, a division separate from Mr. Sussmann’s, represented the party and the Hillary Clinton campaign — of seeking to stoke unfair suspicions about Mr. Trump’s purported ties to Russia.

The case against Mr. Sussmann centers on the question of who his client was when he conveyed certain suspicions about Mr. Trump and Russia to the F.B.I. in September 2016. Among other things, investigators have examined whether Mr. Sussmann was secretly working for the Clinton campaign — which he denies.

PENDING INDICTMENT IN SPYGATE

Special Counsel John Durham “will ask a grand jury to indict” former DNC and Clinton campaign lawyer and Perkins Coie partner Michael Sussman for giving false statements to the FBI.

The false statement charges relate to a September 19, 2016 meeting with FBI lawyer James Baker where Sussman pushed the false theory that the Trump Organization was communicating with Alfa Bank.

TechnoFog has his version of the story…

Durham on the move and he couldn't have picked a more deserving target. Fantastic.

What's not so fantastic is that the Biden regime has leaked the information prior to Sussmann being indicted.

The sabotage continues. https://t.co/wvylSOY31a pic.twitter.com/KjQ3gYBsN5

I’m guessing the lies are immaterial to the case they were investigating and nothing will happen. There should be a ban against posting any articles naming Durham in this forum. Lol.

Right now Durham’s cost per indictment is pretty high.

Well said and all the comments about the tediousness of all this are well taken. Perkins Coie was indeed the heart of darkness together with the top level of the FBI + John Brennan. This report suggests, however, that Durhams going for the small fish so that the main conspirators can go free. On the bright side…. Ummmm… at least Durham’s not rushing into anything!

It seems the FBI or DOJ only convicts on "false statements to the FBI". Why not the underlying crimes?

Durham will not be credible to most until he indicts McCabe, Clapper, Brennan, or Comey...for treason...

Charging a couple of little fish for process crimes means failure and whitewash...

They should be charged with fraud, violations of conduct in office, possibly sedition. However what they have done doesn’t fit the Constitutional definition of treason. I understand the emotion wanting it to be treason but the Founding Fathers set the treason bar very high.(They had good historical reasons for doing so!) Justice Marshal at the Burr trial set it even higher. Constitutional treason definition,

“...Treason is defined on the federal level in Article III, Section 3 of the United States Constitution as: “levying War against [the United States], or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.” ...”

We here on FR throw that word around way too much !

It’s just window dressing. Nothing will happen to any of the “real players”, and if charges are produced for this guy there will be some kind of “error” and the charges thrown out. The fix has been in since the beginning.

This has taken so long that most likely everyone will go free.

That said, Sussmann’s not a small fish. He was the liaison and coordinator for the Clinton/Fusion GPS leaks to the media and the FBI, to create the illusion that one supported the other. He was also the one leading the disinformation regarding the DNC ‘server hack’. He may not be the biggest, but he is well up into the levels that are usually well-protected.

Here’s an article on Sussman’s particular role:

Here’s an example from 2018 of main players:
