I thought that ballots were not pre-counted, and early mail-in votes are counted with same-day ballots.

There are lots of good conservatives living in CA. They don’t deserve this outcome at all.

Sure in a population of 40 million, there are millions of good conservatives, but they aren’t enough in numbers to win statewide elections.

There are competitive house districts, but the urban areas wipe out that impact in statewide election.
