President Joe Biden on Thursday slammed the 80 million Americans who have yet to get a COVD vaccine shot, asking them 'what more is there to wait for.'
'This is not about freedom or personal choice. It's about protecting yourself and those around you, the people you work with, the people you care about, the people you love. My job as president is to protect all Americans,' he said in remarks in the State Dining Room at the White House.
'We've been patient but our patience is wearing thin. And your refusal has cost all of us. So please do the right thing,' he said.
He charged the unvaccinated with 'overcrowding our hospitals and overrunning emergency rooms intensive care units, leaving no room for someone with a heart attack or pancreatic cancer.'
The president decried the 'pandemic politics' that he said was behind those who had not yet gotten a shot in the arm, calling out public officials who were 'actively working to undermine the fight against COVID-19.'
'These pandemic politics, as I refer to, are making people sick, causing unvaccinated people to die. We cannot allow these actions to stand in the way of protecting the large majority of Americans who have done their part and want to get back to life as normal,' he said.
He ended his nearly 30 minute speech with a whispered plea: 'Get vaccinated.'
'My message to unvaccinated Americans is this - what more is there to wait for?,' Biden said. 'What more to you need to see? We've made vaccinations free, safe, and convenient. The vaccine has FDA approval. Over 200 million Americans have gotten at least one shot.'

Two things from the article:
Unfortunately, the Bellville hospital was not equipped with the necessary equipment or personnel needed for the operation Wilkinson needed.
So his first choice, the closest, wasn't equipped for his case. Had nothing to do with COVID. Had everything to do with no equipment and no personnel.

It's the shortage of personnel. Not beds. Not COVID. In other words the hospitals are understaffed. How could that be? Let's see...we just had a government program that literally paid people not to work. We just had many hospitals fire medical personnel who refused to get vaccinated. And now we have more threats to fire MORE medical personnel who won't get vaccinated.
The problem seems to be government policy and not COVID.

obviously you don’t know your arse from a hole in the ground. as a matter of fact i DO work in health care and can tell you that there are plenty of vaccinated patients with symptomatic covid in the hospital. Full ICU beds and overnight stays in the ER are not uncommon even pre-Covid.
No president has ever spoken this way to the American people.
