Every year at breakfast on March 30, my wife's dad would come to the table and say, “You all know what today is.” And my wife's sister would be beaming, “Today is one of the saddest days in history, the day that the greatest General ever was killed in combat.” and then he would add, “Oh and by the way... it is your birthday isn't it Esther?”
