Muslims lie as part of their religion. It’s called taqya though I’m probably spelling it wrong. Of the near 1,500, how many could simply be claiming to be Christian?
For that matter, how many of the Afghans that we were trying to train for 20 years were lying about wanting something other than islam/sharia? They sure gave up really quick.

Imagine you’re a muslim who’s trying to escape. The absolute last thing you’d ever consider is claiming to be a Christian. Your own father might decapitate you. If he doesn’t you uncle and brothers will. If they don’t, your neighbor will. Then there’s the Taliban.
