The conclusion is correct but the evidence given in the article is faulty. It was permitting the Taliban to take Afghanistan that helped China. The other flawed details of the withdrawal were mostly ineptitude and insensitivity toward Americans.
I gather this is because most conservative writers wanted us out, so they can’t identify that as the sellout to China.
It was the rapid fall of the country that aided China.
IMHO though, the Taliban may not actuallly turn out to be under Chinese control.

Doubtful State of the Law of Treason Today
The vacillation of Chief Justice Marshall between the Bollman15 and Burr16 cases and the vacillation of the Court in the Cramer17 and Haupt18 cases leave the law of treason in a somewhat doubtful condition.
