Republicans panned Hochul's decision to appoint Benjamin as lieutenant governor. The critics include state Sen. Peter Oberacker, an Otsego County Republican.
Oberacker highlighted his differences with Benjamin on criminal justice issues. But he expressed willingness to work with the incoming lieutenant governor.
"While I disagree with his stance on these and other policies, I stand ready to educate Senator Benjamin about issues important to constituents of the 51st Senate District in hopes we can find some common ground," he said.

I don’t know who they are talking about. I don’t recognize names of any of these people or the places referred to. Would it be so hard to maybe put some general location information for context? I am reading three paragraphs and I haven’t found out anything useful.

AG Leticia James is digging up dirt on Hochul as I type. If successful she Hochul will resign and Benjamin will name James as his Lt. Governor. Oh what a historic team that will be (sarcasm added)
Cayuga County is in the finger lakes region of central New York State.
It’s probably 30 miles west of Syracuse.
