Prioritizing politics...
Reminds me of Mattis during the Haditha Marines trials...
And nothing changed thereafter.
Their fall guy.
“closer to the embassy”
Yup. It’s a big heavily fortified embassy. But it doesn’t have an airfield. And once the Taliban moved into Kabul it was pretty worthless
Blame the general who is already slated to retire.... sure
So Miller was required to defend the embassy, but he would have only 700 guys. Yeah, I imagine they’d be spread pretty thin protecting an air base and an embassy 40 miles apart with only one battalion.
But why trade having to protect one installation for having to protect 2? The person who thought the embassy was more important should have been over ruled.
BUT, the President of the United States tells this man he has one friggin' infantry battalion, use it wisely. Bagram is a huge base. One battalion can't secure it if it is under determined attack. Plus, Bagram is too far away from the Embassy to be able to support evacuations, if needed. Given that every option was a s#!t sandwich, the Airport was probably the best.
The fault lies with the President and his national security staff who imposed this moronic limit. AND, with General Woke Milley and his spineless Chiefs of Staff who failed to advise the President his plan could lead to disaster. What did McMaster call that when the Joint Chiefs failed to throw down with McNamara and Johnson for their moronic Vietnam war plans? Oh, yeah, Dereliction of Duty.
Scott Miller was a former CAG officer and commander of JSOC. Men who served under him in those roles think extremely highly of him. But, he is also the officer who pushed the first women through to graduate from Ranger school.
This sure looks like an attempt to blame things on a retiring general, but Miller may have caved to political pressure in the past. So, ...
The chinese bought Biden and the lefties love him distracting from their takeover.
They will steal the next election to keep destroying America
To think a embassy was more important, during a tactical withdrawl from a foreign country, than a functioning, well defended airbase, is ludicrous on its face.
state dept employees didnt want to have to take a short helicopter ride to bagram these pu$$ies are worthless.
thats my theory
Great post. It was a succinct bigger picture of what really happened.
Excellent post. You’ve shown us exactly who is responsible and, obviously, the buck stops with Biden.
Naw.
It was all the woke crap that they pushed on them.
The kind of stuff that made all sane people not want to support that corrupt government.
So, who made the deal to sell out the Afghani’s?
How much Hunter art did they have to buy ?!?
He was right, 100%
