Mack Bair, 24, supports same-sex marriage. Matthew C., 22, backs marijuana legalization and Luke T., 22, is solidly pro-abortion rights, (both of whom asked to not use their last names out of fear of retribution for their political views). John Henke, 20, says he believes climate change is happening — and that humans are playing a role.
At first blush, these young men might seem like progressive voters. But they’re not: All four voted for former President Donald Trump in 2020 and, for those old enough, in 2016 as well.

That leaves open the possibility of Gen Z getting more conservative with time. In 2020, they went 60-40 for the Democrats. If 10% switch, that's 50-50. And the Democrats' support is softer than that.
Well hell, put the Dem platform in perspective.
Most people agree with a couple of their objectives but in totality it’s ludicrous.
Which version of the results of Election 2020 are we talking about here?
They are as useless as full-on Democrats and RINOs
Problem is, our soft GOP politicians will start pandering to them to keep them.
getting material from FiveThirtyEight is like fishing in a septic tank.
The Democrats are creating an apocalypse and that tends to cause folks to think twice about their convictions.
Isn’t this kinda like liberals moving into red states? They move into conservative areas: websites, parties, clubs, churches, etc., corrupt them and remove them as opponents to their thought. I do not find this reassuring.
The left is bat-crap crazy and totalitarians almost to a person. These people realize that. Conservatives by and large want to let people do their own thing and let me do mine.
Yes, plenty of conservatives want a rigid and structured society too; but most of us want to live and let live. Protect the borders, prosecute the criminals; but let us live our lives as we see fit.
The problem with the Rats going so far left, is that it means the GOP gets overrun with socially liberal “centrists”.
Globull warming isn’t a “social” issue when the “solution” is to destroy the economy.
Interesting, and you could hear the writer’s frustration about this in the article.

Opposition research. When they have facts, they report them well. They’re off on their assumptions, biases, and conclusions. I find them easier to read than the Washington Post, MSNBC, or CNN.
“Interesting, and you could hear the writer’s frustration about this in the article.”
Yes. Their liberal bias comes through clearly. Their is no analysis of WHY they are so adamant against the democrats, other than ‘immigrants’ (”those bigots!” is kind of implied) and economy. There is no admission of error on the democrats’ part or consideration of changes in their policies.
“Which version of the results of Election 2020 are we talking about here?”
This is a liberal site so it is the results as reported. There is no consideration of voting fraud.
Oh, I see...Alrighty then!
Or it means the GOP will continue to be liberal lite.
The culture war was lost in the 70’s. We are dealing with the fall out.
