The people were sure that they were trapped between the sea and the Egyptian army.
And then Moses said, "Hold muh beer!"
This is the problem with the negative wavers, they don't learn the power of God from the historical records.
Time for a mighty rescue, which involves following Moses' lead, pulling out and pushing forward. Moses didn't wave a magic wand to teleport the people from point A to point B.
It's a mindset shift from the usual hopeless paralysis in waiting for the magic carpet redeemer (like trusting that government help is on the way so no need to get up), and the can-do power that the real redeemer-leader shows the people. He shows the people the "on" switch so they'll actually switch it on and go.
There's the miracle right there!

Well, the dark side is pretty dumb. Word of the Deliverer has spread throughout the camp, so what do the forces of evil do? Head off to the delivery rooms with their eagle eyes on all of the... deliveries.
Explains how God can stash big mysteries in plain sight.
It's up there with the question of how can something be a code if everyone knows the code?
It's all backwards! If people looked in the mirror they'd know that. :-)
