Yeah. There is a boxer that has started showing up in our back yard, desperately thirty, ribs showing (one has a lump, broken?), trembling with hunger.
We're feeding it, it drinks from our pond. It's, uh, he, no longer trembles, is filling out and still won't come within thirty feet of us.
No missing dog reports on Next Door, Craig's List or were told Facebook (we don't do Facebook).
Hopefully we can get him - Tyson? he is a boxer - comfortable enough to come in before it starts snowing...

Then we rehab and foster out.
When we adopted our rescue dog he would flinch every time we moved our hands.
A couple of years later and he is a loving lap dog and will let us touch him anytime and anyplace—no flinching.
Dogs are a total mirror of their owners.

A few years ago, husband and kids walking our pups in the hills behind our home when a beautiful young boxer came running out of the bushes - starving, ribs showing, ect., no collar, tags - and wasn’t chipped we found out later - he’d obviously been dumped to fend for himself.
Husband called and said he was bringing the pup home. He was super friendly and looked to be a purebred.
We had two dogs and two cats at the time and couldn’t keep him. Husband found a boxer rescue group who took him right in - he was adopted out almost immediately.
If it were now, I’d keep him. But we’re retired now and have a lot more time.
