Looks like the people are Fire Island are going to be most impacted. They’re gonna get rammed with a head-on hit.

I appreciate the heads up.

I was born in 1935 and believe I might have seen this movie before. I hope it doesn't end like it did in 1938. -Tom

Thanks or the heads up.

Lived through the 1938 hurricane here in New England.
This storm has a similar track.

Sorry about my double post. I went to post the photo of a different hurricane track and when I did my computer jumped to a different screen; and I stared all over and reposted, Only then did I realize the first post went thru.-Tom

Thanks for the thread—they keep moving the track further west—looks like we are going to get a ton of rain in northern CT—and tropical storm force winds as well.

Might be time to let some almost ready garden veggies finish ripening inside... :-)

Interesting:

Jun 1, 2021 Hurricane season starts today: Is Long Island ‘overdue’ for a direct hit?

A hurricane has not made landfall on Long Island in 36 years, but the odds are still low, even in a more active than normal hurricane season

Hurricane Gloria, a Category 4 hurricane when it made its first landfall in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, was a Category 2 hurricane when it made its second landfall on Long Island on Sept. 27, 1985. Packing gusts of up to 115 mph across eastern Long Island, it ripped off roofs, toppled trees and power lines and left three-quarters of a million people without power, some for nearly two weeks. The storm surge destroyed 48 homes on Long Island. Gloria caused widespread crop damage estimated at about $20 million.

Other hurricanes that made landfall in the last century were: Belle on Aug. 11, 1976 (Category 1), Donna on Sept. 11, 1950, the “Great Atlantic Hurricane” on Sept. 14, 1944 and the infamous “Long Island Express” on Sept. 21, 1938, a devastating Category 3 storm that caused 60 deaths and hundreds of injuries in New York and more than 682 across New England, destroying more than 57,000 homes.

(Gloria is the only Hurricane I’ve ever gone thru )
