How Big Is the Angry Majority?
American Thinker.com ^ | August 20, 2021 | John Green

In an article last week, I posited that the silent majority in America is angry and becoming loud. A reader — we'll call him Lloyd — sent me the following: "Trump-supporters are neither silent nor the majority ... and if we had a straight-up popular vote of what the majority of the people want, you'd never win again."

I believe that's a challenge to my assumptions. Are conservatives really a majority, or are they just using the Electoral College to occasionally cheat the "will of the people" to win as a minority?

The second part of Lloyd's statement implies that Republicans have an unfair advantage due to the Electoral College. Leftists frequently charge that a Republican winner is illegitimate because he lost the popular vote. This charge was made against George W. Bush in 2000 and Donald J. Trump in 2016. To be blunt, it's a silly claim based on faulty logic. Candidates compete according to the rules defined in the Constitution — and unless amended, those rules include the use of the Electoral College. There is no evidence that supports the claim that a different candidate would have won had different rules been used. That's not at all different from claiming that the Kansas City Chiefs would have won the Super Bowl if they'd been playing hockey instead of football. If the electoral rules were different, the candidates would have campaigned differently. Republicans have lost the popular vote not because they can't win it. They've lost the popular vote because they weren't trying to win it. In our system, the popular vote is irrelevant.

It’s certainly anecdotal but if the 2nd/3rd gen Hispanics are waking up in greater numbers as they seemed to do for President Trump last year - well, that is after all the new “majority-minority” paradise the left has been building in America for 50 years. But the Rats may learn that it’s not all tequila and enchiladas for their party after the next election.

In 2020 63-65% of Latinos voted for Slo-Joe. Actually more than against President Trump in 2016. Not feelin’ the Latino move to conservativeness.

We do not live in a democracy. We live in a Republic. In a democracy majority rules. In a Republic the majority cannot vote to take from or do something to you just because they want to. Our rights are supposed to be protected.

“the will of the people” describes a democracy - NOT a republic.

We're going to see how big the angry majority is in the 2022 primaries. After having been cheated royally in 2020, and after it having been RINO-controlled state legislatures who delivered the Steal to Potato Joe on a platter, the angry majority is coming for the RINOs in the 2022 primaries.

I believe Trump is waiting to see what will happen in the 2022 primaries. If the RINOs are kicked out in a tidal wave of retribution from cheated Trump voters, then Trump will run in 2024. After all, why would Trump run in 2024 if the state legislatures that refused to enforce voter ID in 2020 are still dominated by RINOs?

Let’s put it this way...

If enough Americans, even liberal Americans, wanted this ****, Deep State wouldn’t have to steal elections, would it...

Case in point: NYC.

If NYC is so looney lefty, why has RCV been shoved down its throat?

Correct. 100% correct.
But remembering an off hand answer by Benjamin Franklin to a question about our “democracy”;
“A Republic Madam, If you can keep it.”
In my opinion, we will not be able to keep it much longer. Because:
18th and 19th Century Americans knew the difference between a Republic & a Democracy. The second half of the 20th Century was spent blurring the lines between the two and generally dumbing down of Americans. All in the name of Fairness.
Now, 21st Century Americans, for the most part cannot tell you the difference and why it was instituted by maybe the smarted generation of Americans.

Lloyd is full of used food.

I know what I saw at the candidates’ rallies last year.

Thousands of people vs. circles.

No one will ever convince me that Joe Biden won 81 million votes. The 2020 election was rigged by massive fraud. That is the real story and that is where the author should be focusing his energy.

“n 2020 63-65% of Latinos voted for Slo-Joe. Actually more than against President Trump in 2016. Not feelin’ the Latino move to conservativeness.”

In Texas in 2014 at least, 40 to 42% of Hispanics voted straight Republican statewide. With that kind of number, and if whites can get over Trump’s Tweets, Texas is simply unreachable for Democrats. The Democrats are well aware of those numbers, and know that most of those Hispanics are of Mexican descent and so they’ve now moved down to Central America. We’ll see how that plays out...

>>We’re going to see how big the angry majority is in the 2022 primaries.<<

We’d better hope the silent majority comes on in for the big win. This perhaps is our last opportunity to put a stop to these globalist/leftist/Marxist/communist or who the hell ever these people are.

If we fail to take back the house AND senate...the damage done over the remaining 3 years of Kamala’s administration will be like an ice pick in the temple of America.

An "angry majority" is a temporary thing. It comes and goes depending on conditions. You can't assume that it means majority support for your ideology.

As a rough rule of thumb, one third of the country is on the right, one third on the left and one third may vote for either side or not at all. A majority may be angry by 2024 if things continue as they have been, but I don't see a conservative majority in the country.
