What the teachers don’t understand is that their jobs will be cut due to loss of students, and the union reps don’t care because they will still be paid.

I dream of a day when Hillsdale College (or similar institution) trained educators are running cyber schooling nationwide and putting NEA-Marxist propagandists out of work.

Homeschooling has dramatically risen nationwide.,,,,

Anyone who does not have a child in school should have some deduction to their local taxes.

I once read that you can teach an average 16 year old the entire 1-12th grade curriculum in about 9 months.

Study Out of Brown University Finds Children’s IQ Dropped 21% During Pandemic
TG ^ | 8/18/2021 | Evan
Posted on 8/18/2021, 8:05:21 AM by wrrock

While discussing masks mandates, author Naomi Wolf expresses shock that a new study from Brown University — which suggests a 21% drop in children’s IQ during the pandemic — is not front page news.

In the decade preceding the pandemic, the mean IQ score on standardized tests for children aged between three months and three years of age hovered around 100, but for children born during the pandemic that number tumbled to 78.

They added mask-wearing by adults may have also impacted babies’ development because children were less able to learn from facial cues.

But this angle was not fully investigated:

“One aspect also not investigated here is the impact of mask-wearing by the study staff during child visits and assessments . The inability of infants to see full facial expressions may have eliminated non-verbal cues, muffled instructions, or otherwise altered the understanding of the test questions and instructions.”

***Now, Newman says, parents who were compelled to homeschool because of COVID-19 are “continuing to homeschool because it worked well for them.”***

20 years ago I started homeschooling because I refused to medicate my very active son... we went into it with “try if for 6 months and see”.

It went so well, that given the choice every year, he chose to continue. My other son chose it also for his entire schooling. Both did fine on standardized testing, and had no problems getting into colleges of their choice. My oldest chose a trade instead and loves it, my youngest is finishing up his jr year at college.

But what we all loved the most was how they could learn the way they loved best - no cookie cutter approaches. My oldest liked hands on and visual learning, my oldest loves to read and preferred textbooks and written courses. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Children born during the pandemic are not yet two years old. They test for IQ at, say, eighteen months? How does that work?

per Brainable.com

While you can test a child's IQ as early as 2 years and 6 months of age, the results may not be accurate and may in fact change with age. The best time to test IQ in children is between ages 5 and 8.

Why does anyone have to ask? Have people become that stupid or brainwashed?

Homeschooling goes away once we let the Democrats have the power they crave. Bank on it.

It would be better to send your children outside to eat grass than to send them to a public screwl. It is a waste of time and worse, it will damage them and warp them and leave them stupid and ignorant of anything useful. Public school is a negative influence on children. It should be declared a public hazard.

Not where I live. They reward failure by giving out more teacher jobs. They call it hiring “reading specialists”.

So basically the rise in homeschooling is driven by parents’ desire to have their kids educated, a result no longer available in public schools. Who knew?

I’ve been a long-time fan of homeschooling for those families for which it’s right,

But there will be a big was over this. Homeschooling is a mortal enemy of the N.E.A. union, and they have deep pockets and lobbyists to buy politicians. They will not allow this without a big fight.

You’ve already heard all the oh-so-earnest-and-logical bull-roar NEA publishes about how bad H.S. is.

Like everything leftists kill, they do it one small bite at a time — “incrementalism.”

“Socialization” is one of NEA’s big bugaboos, and there are plenty stupid and pandering politicians to use that one.
