My husband was teaching learning disabled students in the inner city. He himself had some difficulties he had overcome. He was raising reading levels an average of 3 years during 1/2 year of classes. I remember one evaluation test in which the student had filled every blank in the sentences with the letter M. This was high school, not elementary or junior high.
