House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is calling for a congressional probe into the disaster unfolding in Afghanistan, which has left thousands of Americans stranded in the country scrambling to get out, according to a report.
McCarthy told Punchbowl News on Sunday that Congress needs to investigate the Biden administration’s execution of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, calling it a “mistake that will haunt us for decades.”

While there was a barrage of media criticism, within 1 week they will work to make this completely disappear like it never occurred, and if someone brings it up, it will be laughed off as “old news.”
If the GOP takes the House and starts an investigation, it will, as is typical, be called a “partisan witch hunt” and that we “already know what happened” and “Biden manned up and took responsibility - these GOP racists need to do the same with the violence and terror they inspire.” I can already here the talking heads and pundits saying this.

2) AFTER impeaching him -- months later in fact -- convene a Select House Committee to Investigate the August 15th Overthrow of the Afghan Government. Do this on a party-line vote, and appoint ONLY people who have been blaming Biden for months, and especially those who impeached him, to be members of the aforementioned Select Committee. They will be "investigating" who is responsible for the events of August 15. Add one or two token Democrats to the this committee, but make sure they are Trump Democrats who vehemently opposed Biden's election, and have also been blaming Biden for months.
3) Announce how even-handed and bipartisan this whole process is, saying all Americans should support this effort if they any basic sense of decency, and those who oppose either the impeachment or the select committee have something to hide and are just mindless Biden worshipers who put their love for Biden over this country.
Yeah maybe in 2023 if you take the House back.

Ha, you beat me to it. Politicians are all alike. They only care about the next election.
They seem to have forgotten that half the countries on that list were THEMSELVES "installed by military force", including the United States and China!
They since backtracked, saying they'd be OK with the Taliban in power, providing the Taliban allow women in government and "Respect basic human rights". In other words, as long as the Taliban don't act like the Taliban.
