Bagram is only 70 clicks from the Embassy. Which would be easier to secure, an air force base or a civilian airport? /rhetorical.
There is no honor amongst the top brass. We’re told Xiden went against their advice. Yet no one resigned in a public display of love for their troops. Now 5 to 6 thousand brave American soldiers and marines jump back into harms’ way. It doesn’t take a military genius to predict everything that happened. They HAD to know. But they all went along. It is on the Joint Chiefs and the four stars as much as it is on Xiden and “I was the last one in the room” Harris.
But they only want the best for the Afghan people. No revenge. 🙄
For what it’s worth, either the Taliban guy is a really bad shot or it was a warning shot for the guy to get back to the other side.
